FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is this an award or a ranking?

Neither. It is a standards-based certification: we confirm that your venue meets a clear, published standard. We do not rank venues or evaluate individual beer brands.

Do I pay before the review?

No. Applying is free. The certification fee is only requested after your venue passes review.

Does the certification expire?

No. Your certificate does not expire. It states the date on which your venue was certified, and it remains accurate as a record of that date.

How is the public register kept accurate?

Once a year we send a short email asking whether your venue still offers two or more non-alcoholic beers on its menu. A one-line reply is enough, and there is no fee. If we do not hear back, the venue is removed from the public register — your certificate remains valid as a record of the date it was issued. This is how we keep the register worth trusting for the guests who use it.

Who is behind this certification?

The Japan Non-Alcoholic Beer Association (一般社団法人 日本ノンアルコールビール協会), a general incorporated association based in Japan, dedicated to the culture of enjoying non-alcoholic beer — including Japan’s certified venue map and official education programs.
